CIDESCO Diplomas

The Institute of Cosmetology, Esthetics & Massage is dedicated to providing cosmetology students with marketable skills needed to succeed in life and the workplace. Students will develop a wide array of knowledge, skills and competencies ranging from a strong understanding of beauty concepts to cutting edge trends. 

CIDESCO Beauty Therapy Diploma

The CIDESCO Diploma is awarded to candidates who have passes practical and written examinations and have completed at least 600 hours of professional salon experience (a reference letter from the employer is required). CIDESCO Diploma holders also receive a CIDESCO badge that is instantly recognized worldwide as a sign of excellence. The diploma is issued from CIDESCO headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland when students meet all requirements. CIDESCO Beauty Therapy students at the Institute of Cosmetology, Esthetics & Massage must complete the following programs and licensing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Registration to qualify to sit for the CIDESCO exam: 

  • Premier Esthetics and Nail Tech 1200 hours and obtain a license with TDLR 

  • Body Massage 500 hours and obtain a license with TDLR 

  • CIDESCO Intro Level 1

 

This allows our candidates to not only achieve the coveted International Diploma but also obtain two state licenses as an esthetician, nail technician and a massage therapist. Once the hours have been completed, the student will then prepare and sit for a CIDESCO International examination. The examination consists of: 

  • Facial examination 

  • Body examination 

  • Written examination

  • An additional subject and special project with documentation of case history studies 

 

Subjects covered during the course: 

  • Body analysis 

  • Body therapy, with and without machines 

  • Spa treatments 

  • Hydrotherapy with 

    • Under-water massage, Vichy shower and body wraps 

    • Exfoliation with salt and sugar scrubs, and body polish 

  • Specialized skin analysis 

  • Corrective facial therapies 

  • Manual lymph drainage for face and neck 

  • Microdermabrasion and chemical peels 

  • LED photo and light therapy 

  • Use of advanced skincare equipment

  • Basic manicure and pedicure

  • In-depth anatomy, dermatology, chemistry, product ingredients, physics, electricity and nutrition

  • Advanced face and body treatments

  • Writing of required CIDESCO thesis

Hours & Tuition
  • 1700 hours.

  • $25,950 – includes tuition, books, supplies and registration fees.

Fees

Prep course – $1,500

CIDESCO Exam – $750

Post Graduate Beauty Therapy Diploma

Therapists and estheticians may receive a Post Graduate Beauty Therapy Diploma if they have three years of professional experience, complete the CIDESCO prep class and take the CIDESCO examination. 

Candidates must also provide: 

  • Diploma of the school they attended for the esthetics program. 

  • Letter from their employer(s) verifying three years of full-time employment in the beauty therapy field. 

  • Active esthetics license for the past three years. 

  • Self-employed individuals must present a copy of an active business license for the past three years. 

  • Copies of filed income tax forms for the past three years verifying occupation. 

Post graduate candidates must apply to take the exam at least three moths in advance and, send at least two of the above and $750 exam fee with their application.
