Diploma Overview
The CIDESCO Diploma is awarded to candidates who have passed practical and written examinations and have completed at least 600 hours of professional salon experience (a reference letter from the employer is required). CIDESCO Diploma holders also receive a CIDESCO badge that is instantly recognized worldwide as a sign of excellence. The diploma is issued from CIDESCO headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland when students meet all requirements. CIDESCO Beauty Therapy students at the Institute of Cosmetology, Esthetics & Massage must complete the following programs and licensing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Registration to qualify to sit for the CIDESCO exam:

Premier Esthetics and Nail Tech 1200 hours and obtain a license with TDLR

Body Massage 500 hours and obtain a license with TDLR

CIDESCO Intro Level 1
This allows our candidates to not only achieve the coveted International Diploma but also obtain two state licenses as an esthetician, nail technician and a massage therapist. Once the hours have been completed, the student will then prepare and sit for a CIDESCO International examination. The examination consists of:

Diploma Overview
Therapists and estheticians may receive a Post Graduate Beauty Therapy Diploma if they have three years of professional experience, complete the CIDESCO Prep Class and take the CIDESCO examination.
Candidates must also provide:

Diploma of the school they attended for the esthetics program.

Letter from their employer(s) verifying three years of full-time employment in the beauty therapy field.

Active esthetics license for the past three years.

Self-employed individuals must present a copy of an active business license for the past three years.

Copies of filed income tax forms for the past three years verifying occupation.
Postgraduate candidates must apply to take the exam at least three months in advance and send at least two of the above, the $750 exam fee and proof of prep class completion with their application.

Diploma Overview
The Beauty & Spa Management Diploma equips beauty professionals with the managerial skills needed to run a successful spa, salon or beauty business. This course is designed to give beauty practitioners a more comprehensive understanding of how to manage all aspects within a beauty salon or spa environment. Students will get a comprehensive business education by covering topics such as operational management, leadership, professional development, marketing and customer relations, human resources and finance.
In addition to the traditional business topics, this course also covers industry specific information that will help beauty professionals thrive like international and national spa trends and technology, and stock control. Throughout the 15 weeks, students will work on a business plan, utilizing all of the business practices they have learned. By the end of the course, students will feel confident in starting their own business or working in a managerial role.
This diploma is offered online, allowing working professionals to learn the skills necessary for career advancement without having to take time off work. Students can expect to spend 20 hours a week completing the course.
The Beauty & Spa Management Diploma is available to any person wishing to obtain a higher understanding of management within the beauty and spa industry. No prior training is required for this course, although an understanding of the beauty and spa industry is an advantage. Students will need access to a computer and are responsible for obtaining the course textbook.
