How long will I be in school?The length of each course depends on student attendance and the number of hours required for each course. The courses ICE&M offers range from 300 hours to 1700.

Does ICE&M offer evening classes?No, students must attend class full time from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday

How many students are typically in a class?In a practical class, there are no more than 10 students.

What sets ICE&M apart from other schools?ICE&M is the premier institute dedicated to CIDESCO standards in education and training. This means that the world-class CIDESCO syllabus is taught, excellence is required in all courses, and advanced education is covered that is not required by TDLR. Students leave ICE&M with substantial hands-on experience, so they are prepared and confident for a real-world job.

Does ICE&M offer online classes?Yes, we now offer Distance Learning Fundamentals. Students can earn up to 80 hours of beginner education and apply it to an esthetics, nail tech or cosmetology course. More information on this offering can be found here.

How do I register for a course?To register for a course, you must first make an appointment to tour the campus to ensure the school is a good fit for your educational goals. You can schedule a campus tour online, calling (713) 783-9988, or by emailing info@cidescohouston.com.

Does ICE&M accept financial aid?We accept VA. We do not accept Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®).

Can I set up a payment plan for tuition?Yes. You can view a tuition breakdown and recommended payment plan in our course book. The down payment listed is a suggestion.

Can I pay off tuition after I graduate?No, all tuition must be paid before receiving an ICE&M diploma. We do not report hours to TDLR that have not been paid for.

Does ICE&M take Veterans Assistance?Yes. We have a longstanding relationship with the VA office and many of our students use VA benefits to pay for school.

How much is tuition for the course I’m interested in?Tuition is listed in our course book, you can receive one by touring or by requesting for information here.

What is TDLR? Why is it important to me?TDLR stands for Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. In Texas, to work as a cosmetologist, esthetician, manicurist, massage therapist or eyelash extension specialist, you must obtain a license from TDLR.

How often do I have to renew my license?License must be renewed every two years and continuing education requirements set by TDLR must be completed before renewal. Learn more here.

How do I sign up for the state board exam?The TDLR state board exams are administered through PSI Exams. After graduation, students are given information on how to register.

What is CIDESCO?CIDESCO is a global organization that sets the world standards for beauty and spa therapy education. You can learn more on the CIDESCO website here.

What CIDESCO diplomas does ICE&M offer?Our most popular CIDESCO diploma that we offer is the Beauty Therapy Diploma. Students can also earn the Beauty and Spa Management Diploma, and Spa Therapy Diploma.

How long does it take to recieve a CIDESCO diploma?The 1700 hours required for the Beauty Therapy diploma at ICE&M takes about 18 months to complete. The Beauty and Spa Management course is 15 weeks.

Is CIDESCO a license?CIDESCO does not offer a license like TDLR, it is a diploma that is recognized at salons and spas across the world.

Do I have to renew my CIDESCO diploma?No, it is a life-long achievement similar to a diploma received at a college or university.

Do I have to be an ICE&M student to attend an advanced class?No, our advanced esthetic classes are open to the public.

How much is each advanced class? What advanced classes do you offer?Esthetic classes range from $150-$1000. A full description of the advanced classes that we offer can be found here.

Can I get a job immediately after I graduate and receive a diploma from ICE&M?In Texas, you must pass the TDLR state board examination before you begin working. Laws vary by state, so check the requirements if you are planning on finding work in another state.

Where can I get a job after graduation? Does ICE&M offer students assistance in finding a job?Our students go on to work in salons, spas and med spas. ICE&M has developed a relationship with local employers over the years and students are often connected with job opportunities after graduation.

Does becoming a licensed esthetician allow me to perform injections in a med spa like Botox® or dermal fillers?No, you must be a registered nurse to perform injections.

Do I have to have a license to perform eyelash extension application?Yes, eyelash extension services can only be performed by a licensed cosmetologist, esthetician, eyelash extension specialist, esthetician/manicurist (combination license; a manicurist cannot perform eyelash extensions), cosmetology instructor or esthetician instructor.

Can I schedule a spa appointment online?No, due to the changing schedules of our students, we only book appointments via phone or email.

Do you accept same day appointments or walk-in?No, unfortunately we do not take same day appointments or walk in's.
